Shadows – work today

Shadows of Summer work in progress, 60H x 40W x 3D inches acrylics on canvas, custom built stretcher frame. Since these photos were taken I’ve added a gel-wash of Ultramarine. The trunk colors need more contrast and background leaves need more depth.

It’s so fun to watch the progress of you paintings. I thought it was done on the first post! I’ll be interested to see the finish.

Hi Virginia, thanks! It’s that progress potential that urges me to proceed past the initial stages, and sometimes I wish I hadn’t. I was thinking about that just this morning.. how this could have been called finished after the first two days. Immediately though, my conscience said ‘No, if you know you and the work are capable of something more then you need to take the leap’.
